I am researching my motherís family tree.

The first line of interest stems from the maternal THOMPSON family line of the Warbleton, Bodle Street, Dallington and Burwash areas.

The second is the paternal line of BARTHOLOMEW. Her father was born in Rotherfield but the Bartholomews lived in the Kilndown/Goudhurst area of Kent - a few straying into Surrey. The Bartholomews make an appearance in the Goudhurst parish records for the first time in 1756 - sometimes appearing as Battlemore. I am looking for information surrounding Thomas Bartholomew baptised in 1726 in Cranbrook born to a Thomas and Elizabeth. Am looking for any potential connection with the sizeable grouping of Bartholomews in Willingdon and Folkington. Did they migrate north? Any information about possible landowners in this areas would be helpful.

I am also looking for any information regarding an Ann BERWICK marrying an Edward HOBDEN around 1758 in Maresfield (could be Buxted or Fletching or Hurstpierpoint?). Looking for marriage confirmation - someone on Ancestry has this as 23 April 1758 but I have been unable to verify this.

Some of our ancestors moved between Sussex and Kent but apart from Goudhurst, Lamberhurst and Cranbrook, the majority were centred around Rotherfield, Heathfield and surrounding villages. Some of the surnames included in our tree are: Hallett, Hobden, Barden, Boorman, Harmer, Sands, Collins, Relf, Carde, Elphicke, Avery, Mepham, Maskell, Morley, Hoadley, Carde, Dearing, Underhill, Downs, Kemp, Weston, Aylwood, Catt, Mabb, Hyland, Lucke, Longley, Marchant, Curtis, Water/Walters, Cadwell, Eastland, Jenner and Chittenden.

Would be pleased to hear from anyone researching any of these names.
