My father, Edward Charles Alfred Scrase, was born 13.6.1896, in Bromley, London. He spent most of his life in the Brighton area and was manager of Peacehaven Hotel and shared tenancy of a pub in Trafalgar Street, Brighton, Sussex, with a brother, details unknown, but thought to be after the last war. Precise dates not known.
He married Dolores Eugene Fox, born 11.11.1910, from Newhaven,Sussex, who worked for Grooms Bakers, Sutherland Road, Brighton, for many years.
His father was William H Scrase, born 1866 at Brighton. He was a Stationary Engine Driver at Brighton and Bromley, London, and married Mary Ann, born 1879, London.
His father was Richard S Scrase, born 1838 Brighton, Sussex. He married Mary A, born 1845 at Brighton, Sussex. It appears the family moved from Brighton, Sussex to Bexhill where Richard became a Town Crier.
For those familiar with the Family of Scrase name I am in possession of the genealogical memoir by Mark Antony Lower, M.A, F.S.A, kindly supplied by Richard Scrase of Pinner.
